The Aspen Institute Kyiv Organized a Curated Tour of the “ProZori” Exhibition at the Ukrainian House for the Community

Dialogue through art is another way to support ourselves and our loved ones — a journey into the world of ideas, emotions, and imagination on the path to self-discovery, observation of social transformations, and historical processes.

On June 26, Aspen Institute Kyiv organized a curated tour of the “ProZori” exhibition at the Ukrainian House for Community members — active alumni of the Institute.

“ProZori” is an interdisciplinary project dedicated to iconic Kyiv artists who shaped post-war Kyiv’s spiritual and visual landscape. The exhibition’s curator, Olena Grozovska, personally led the tour for the community members.

Olena Grozovska is a Ukrainian artist, book illustrator, and art historian. She has curated numerous art exhibitions, including “Femina. Metamorphoses” (2007) at the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery,” “Aksinin’s Labyrinths” (2017) at the National Art Museum of Ukraine (co-curated with Oksana Barshynova), and “I+GOD=А” (2020) also at the National Art Museum of Ukraine (co-curated with Tetiana Zhmurko).

Participants immersed themselves in the works of Fedir Tetyanych, Valerii Lamakh, Ada Rybachuk, and Volodymyr Melnychenko, and Florian Yuriev — artists who worked at the intersection of art, philosophy, science, and spiritual exploration. Their legacy goes far beyond the well-known mosaics such as the “Flying Saucer” near Lybidska station or murals at Kyiv’s light rail stations — it includes unique concepts blending symbolism, cosmology, archetypes, and the lived experience of the 20th century.

The guided tour by the curator highlighted key themes: the transparency of meaning, how visionary artists of the past help us better understand ourselves, our city, and the times we live in today, and how crucial it is to preserve that connection while shaping the future.

We thank the curators, organizers, and participants for this inspiring experience. Thanks to Mykola Vyhovskyy, alumnus of the “Responsible Leadership” — 25 Seminar, for the initiative!
