Aspen Teens: fight for UA dream

Within the “Aspen Teens” program, Aspen Institute Kyiv and the Klitschko Foundation are launching a series of dialogues titled “Aspen Teens: Fight for UA Dream.”

Context: Over the past year, the question of Ukraine’s place in the world and its future has become a central topic of reflection for Ukrainians and global leaders. Numerous experts produce their ideas and reviews daily, including thoughts on what our country will be like after the war and why we will prevail. However, these discussions have long ceased to be limited by age. Teenagers are also interested in the future of Ukraine. Like everyone else, they also bear the burden of the war. This makes them reflect: what comes next? That is why we must develop a platform for such reflections, as our future depends on the results of these reflections.

Project Mission: Through the organization of philosophical seminars, create a community of teenagers where they can express their thoughts, engage in discussions, find like-minded individuals, and form their vision of Ukraine’s future. During the dialogues, young people will analyze texts by renowned thinkers and provide their assessment and relevance of various ideas.

Who can participate? We invite motivated teenagers aged 14-17 willing to think outside the box, take responsibility for societal changes, and become advocates of progressive ideas to participate.

Project Format: The project will involve conducting 2-day philosophical seminars in an online format. Each seminar will accommodate up to 20 teenagers. Ten seminars will be held to ensure that as many young people as possible can participate in the project and adjust the dates to their convenience. At the end of the project, there will be a Reunion, a joint meeting in a safe location, for the seminar participants.

Timing: The series of dialogues will take place from March to June 2023.

Dates of the dialogue series: from March 10th to June 3rd. The Reunion will occur in July, and the exact date will be announced later.
