Fifth seminar for teenagers “Realms of the Future”
On March 28-30, was held on a fifth unique and memorable seminar, “Realms of the Future.” The courageous challenge took not only organizers but also the participants of the seminar who agreed to participate in the first online seminar of all time projects conducted by the Aspen Institute Kyiv.
Together with our creative partners and qualified moderators, we adapted the program to the online format, fulfilling it by interesting team tasks, physical activities, and the last session, allowing participants to take the moderator’s place.
The bright flow of thoughts and expressions in teenagers were provoked by writings of Descartes, Hobbes, Kant, Fukuyama, Chekhov, and other famous nowadays and the past authors. Young participants with a great interest diving into the discussion following Socrates’ dialogue method.
One of the most memorable parts of the seminar for teenagers became an online meeting with the guest of our project, child and family relationship psychologist with 20 years of expertise, Svitlana Roise. During the conversation, participants inspired by the incredible story of our guest’s life and career and got answers on essential questions.
We are very grateful to our partner Klitschko Foundation for their trust in the online format, persistence, and commitment to the project. Agile and creative steps made the miracle because all three days, adolescents were discussing and sharing with their thoughts and feelings sincere.
Kind regards to our beautiful couple of moderators Anton Drobovych (Head of Ukrainian Institute of national memory, associate professor of culturology and philosophical anthropology department at National Pedagogical Dragomanov University) and Anastasia Donskaya (candidate of political sciences, professor at sociology department at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”). Despite all the uncertainty, moderators were able to waken up in teenagers’ thoughts about being, education, love, and searching for their destination.
After ending up of quarantine, we plan to organize a live meeting with participants of the projects and make this meeting useful and exciting to them.
