The Aspen Institute Kyiv became a partner of the Aspen Regional Leadership Seminar for Tech Startups of the Aspen Institute Romania and nominated 4 participants from Ukraine

In early April, just outside Chișinău, Moldova, Aspen Institute Romania brought together leaders of tech startups from Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania for the Aspen Regional Leadership Seminar for Tech Startups. But this wasn’t your typical business event or startup conference. The seminar created a space for meaningful conversations about responsibility, values, and leadership in today’s world — moving from dialogue to action, from classical ideas to the challenges of a new reality.
Held from April 2 to 5, the four-day seminar offered participants a unique environment without ready-made answers. Instead, they were invited to reflect, listen deeply, and share doubts and convictions. The diversity of perspectives allowed participants to explore how the human factor shapes the development of technology and innovation more broadly.
The Aspen Institute Kyiv was a seminar partner and nominated four Ukrainian participants. Their reflections on the experience are below.
Mădălina Mocan (Aspen Institute Romania) and Denis Poltavets (Director of Program Development at the Aspen Institute Kyiv) moderated the seminar.
Today, Ukrainian startups, businesses, and civic initiatives operate in an environment where crisis is not an exception but a constant. In every field, leadership plays a crucial role in personal or organizational growth and in strengthening communities and society at large. Fulfilling its mission, Aspen Institute Kyiv supports leaders in making sense of shared challenges and finding ways to address them by creating opportunities for dialogue on what truly matters.
We are grateful to the Ukrainian participants who represented our country at this international seminar and to the partners at Aspen Institute Romania for their ongoing collaboration and shared commitment to impactful, cross-border projects.
