The Aspen Institute Kyiv announces the enrollment of participants for the seminar “Media and Reality: Dimensions of Responsibility” (May 29 – June 2) 2024, in Zakarpattia.

The OSCE projects in Ukraine support the seminar.

The seminar aims to create a platform for dialogue between representatives of the media community on the importance of the media for the establishment of democracy, civil society development, the development of good governance practices, and its unique role in wartime. The experience of dialoguing with professionals who have different backgrounds and views will allow for a broader perspective on professional challenges. 

For four days, participants will discuss the following issues:

– The principle of freedom of speech: philosophical content, practical significance, and application limits.

– Politicization of the media as a challenge for professional journalism.

– The role of journalism in countering propaganda and misinformation.

– Journalism and coverage of military conflicts.

– Transformation of journalism in the era of information technology and social networks.
