Aspen Institute Kyiv’s Operations Manager Participates in the International Cooperation Program in the U.S.

At the beginning of October, Alona Lakhmaniuk, Operations Manager at Aspen Institute Kyiv, took part in an International Cooperation Program organized by the Aspen Institutes Network in partnership with the Aspen Latinos & Society Program (USA).

This initiative brings together representatives of Aspen Institute International Partners Aspen from around the world to exchange experiences, share best practices, and develop joint solutions for strengthening the global network. Participation in the program provided an opportunity to learn about various directions of the Aspen Institute’s work, expand professional connections, and share the experience of Aspen Institute Kyiv.

“It was truly inspiring to see how the Aspen Institute teams in the U.S. work and to directly join the efforts of the Latinos & Society Program. This was my first visit to the U.S., and it reminded me once again that Aspen is about professionalism, trust, and the power of community. I was deeply moved by the words of support for the Ukrainian people,”
— shared Alona Lakhmaniuk.

As part of the visit, Alona visited the Aspen Institute’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., where she met with Daniel R. Porterfield, President and CEO of the Aspen Institute; Jonathon Price, Vice President and Executive Director for International Partners; Savannah Lane, Associate Director for International Partners; as well as the network team and program directors from various departments.

The discussions focused on Aspen Institute Kyiv’s activities, opportunities for deeper cooperation, and the exchange of best practices within the global network.

The second part of the program took place in Los Angeles, where Alona joined the Aspen Latinos & Society team during the preparation and implementation of two large-scale events — the 5th Annual Advancing Economic Mobility Summit and the 10th Anniversary Gala.

The Summit brought together over 150 leaders from various sectors under the theme “Game Changers in Sports & Business” to explore how sports can serve as a driver of economic growth and innovation. During the event, McKinsey & Company presented its report “Unlocking the Growing Power of Latino Fans,” which highlighted that by 2035 the U.S. sports economy could reach $300 billion, with Latino fans contributing a third of this growth.

Later that evening, the 10th Anniversary Gala of Aspen Latinos & Society, organized in partnership with Variety, celebrated the program’s key achievements and its impact on empowering Latino communities across the United States.
