Rethinking the Role of Business in Society: the Aspen Institute Kyiv Held a Seminar for the Management of TERWIN Corporation Companies

In times of uncertainty and ongoing challenges, it is important for businesses to engage in operational activities and understand the values on which these activities are based. For the Aspen Institute Kyiv, it is very important when company leadership initiates dialogue seminars for their employees. This helps participants to look at their activities in a broader social context, rethink the role of business in society, and unite the management team.
From April 9 to 13 near Dnipro, the Aspen Institute Kyiv held a seminar for the management of TERWIN Corporation companies as part of the “Business and Society” program. The event brought together 25 participants holding leadership positions.
Participants discussed the role of entrepreneurs in difficult times, the challenges of a wartime economy, business ethics, innovation, and responsibility. The key factor remained the war, which increased the demands on leaders and their responsibilities. At the conclusion, participants presented a joint creative project: they reflected on alternative paths for significant historical events.
Denis Poltavets, Director of Program Development at Aspen Institute Kyiv, and Volodymyr Fadieiev, Head of the Department of Philosophical Issues of Ethnicity and Nation at the H.S. Skovoroda Institute, moderated the seminar. Alina Shklyaruk, Seminar Program Director at Aspen Institute Kyiv, coordinated the event.
The seminar became an opportunity to view oneself, the team, and the company through a broader lens. We thank the participants for their active engagement in discussions. We hope this experience helped discover new facets of familiar things and “synchronize watches” on the organization’s values, mission, and current growth points.
