Exploring Effective Strategies for International Communication: The Aspen Institute Kyiv Held a Meeting of Its Communications Group in the AspenLab Format

On May 3, the Aspen Institute Kyiv held a meeting of its Сommunications group in the AspenLab format. The discussion focused on exploring effective strategies for international communication, particularly for promoting Ukrainian culture globally.
Participants included members of the Aspen Institute Kyiv’s communications group: journalists and editors, as well as heads of communications at various companies and organizations. Public intellectuals who regularly represent Ukraine on international platforms also joined the discussion.
The meeting took place in several formats:
- Discussion of thematic texts
- Analysis of the current communication landscape
- Exploration of effective narratives and tools for engaging different audiences
- Group work on communication campaigns aimed at promoting Ukraine globally
The Ukrainian Institute will use the discussion’s outcomes in its work and will also develop recommendations to be shared with Ukrainian actors representing the country on the international stage.
Andriy Kulakov, Program Coordinator for the Aspen Institute Kyiv Community Program, and Alim Aliev, Deputy Director General of the Ukrainian Institute and an Aspen Institute Kyiv Community Council member, moderated the event. Denys Starostin, Communications Manager at the Aspen Institute Kyiv, coordinated it. Special thanks to Kateryna Spivakova (Kernel) for co-organizing and supporting it.
We are grateful to all participants for their meaningful contributions. We believe that the voiced ideas will become fertile ground for the emergence of new narratives and campaigns that will strengthen Ukraine’s presence and position in the world.
