The 9th “Values and Society” Seminar

From November 27 to December 2, 2021, the Aspen Institute Kyiv held its ninth “Values and Society” seminar in the Carpathian Mountains. The seminar brought together 24 young leaders representing diverse regions and sectors of Ukrainian society.

Over six days, participants took part in moderated dialogues on fundamental questions, exploring the values that shape both everyday choices and long-term decisions. Topics included human nature, freedom, and property; societal tensions; equality and justice; the challenges of emerging technologies; and community development — alongside broader conversations about the trends shaping our shared future. The safe, open atmosphere of the seminar encouraged participants to exchange experiences and ideas, and to learn from one another.

The seminar was moderated by Andriy Kulakov and Yevgen Lemberg, and coordinated by Alina Shkliaruk, Director of Seminar Programs.
