Aspen Community Gathering in Gdańsk Brings Together the Aspen Institute Kyiv Community During the Ukraine Recovery Conference

On 25 June, during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk, Aspen Institute Kyiv hosted its annual Aspen Community Gathering—a tradition that has become an integral part of the conference for members of the Institute’s community.

Each year, the Ukraine Recovery Conference brings together people working to shape Ukraine’s future. For Aspen Institute Kyiv, it also provides an opportunity to reconnect members of its community from Ukraine and around the world—people who continue to support one another and remain connected regardless of where they live and work today.

Throughout the evening, participants discussed Ukraine’s future, international cooperation, and new opportunities for partnership. Particularly valuable were the ideas and initiatives aimed at expanding professional exchange and strengthening collaboration within the Aspen Institute Kyiv community.

This year, news of the Aspen Community Gathering spread quickly among conference participants. “Where are the Aspen people gathering?” community members kept asking, and more and more participants joined throughout the evening. For the Institute’s team, this was another reminder that the Aspen Institute Kyiv community remains a place people genuinely want to return to.

We extend our special thanks to Andrii Stavnitser, Member of the Supervisory Board of Aspen Institute Kyiv, for supporting the initiative and helping make the gathering possible.

The Aspen Community Gathering was followed by the partner reception “Foundations of the Future,” organised by Ihor Liski, a member of the Aspen Institute Kyiv community, together with EFI Group and its partners. Members of the community had the opportunity to take part in an international gathering that brought together representatives of governments, businesses, international financial institutions, and the cultural sector to discuss Ukraine’s recovery, industrial development, human capital, and long-term partnerships.

Gatherings like these help strengthen connections among leaders, create new opportunities for collaboration, and sustain the international dialogue on Ukraine’s future.

Our sincere thanks go to Olena Fomina, Director of Program Areas at Aspen Institute Kyiv, and Olesia Kramarenko, Aspen Community Coordinator, whose work made this gathering possible.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who joined the Aspen Community Gathering for an evening of meaningful conversations and for their continued commitment to strengthening the Aspen Institute Kyiv community.
