A Community of Diverse Perspectives: Forbes Ukraine Features Aspen Institute Kyiv

To mark the 10th anniversary of Aspen Institute Kyiv, Forbes Ukraine has published an in-depth feature exploring the Institute’s history, its seminar programmes, and the community that has grown over the past decade.
Since its founding, more than 2,100 leaders from different sectors, cities, and professional backgrounds have become part of the Aspen Institute Kyiv community. What brings them together is a willingness to ask difficult questions, listen carefully to one another, engage with different perspectives, and seek thoughtful responses to the challenges facing society.
For the feature, journalist Yuliia Bielinska spoke with Aspen alumni and members of the Institute to understand why people with such diverse experiences, professions, and worldviews continue returning to these conversations.
At the heart of the story are not only the seminars themselves but also the people they bring together. The article explores how the close reading of classical texts, open dialogue, and a genuine willingness to understand different perspectives help participants develop a broader view of today’s societal challenges. It also shows how relationships formed during the seminars often evolve into long-term collaborations, friendships, and shared initiatives.
“Aspen is a community of people with diverse perspectives. They may disagree with one another, but they are willing to listen and broaden their own horizons. One of Aspen’s core purposes is to cultivate a culture of dialogue,” says Yuliya Tychkivska, Executive Director of Aspen Institute Kyiv, in the article.
The feature also traces the journey of Aspen Institute Kyiv from its first seminars in 2015 to today, when its community has grown to more than 2,100 alumni representing the public sector, business, education, culture, civil society, the media, academia, and the security and defence sectors.
Our sincere thanks go to Forbes Ukraine and Yuliia Bielinska for this thoughtful and deeply human story about the people who make up our community and about the value of dialogue at a time when it is needed more than ever.
The feature appears in the third issue of Forbes Ukraine.
