The Aspen Institute Kyiv Held a Seminar for Top Management and Division Heads of the TIS Transport Hub

Listening and understanding others is crucial for the success of individual organizations and for building unity and trust within our shared space.

From September 18–22, 2024, a seminar took place in Kobleve, Mykolaiv region, for the top management and division heads of the TIS transport hub. TIS, a major strategic enterprise responsible for a significant portion of Ukraine’s exports, including agricultural goods, was blocked during the first year of the war and is now gradually recovering. The co-owner and CEO of TIS is Andrii Stavnytser, a Supervisory Board of the Aspen Institute Kyiv member.

Our society is currently experiencing a challenging phase of development, where there is no practical precedent for addressing the challenges faced by corporations and businesses. Therefore, involving as many stakeholders from various industries as possible in dialogue is vital to determine the most effective courses of action under these new circumstances.

Over four days, participants discussed issues related to the existence and development of corporations during wartime, leadership, human resources, corruption and power, competitive advantages, and the use of artificial intelligence. They also touched on timeless topics such as defining a “dignified life,” the purpose of humanity, and the limits of rights and freedoms. Additionally, participants explored the formation of modern socio-political trends and the creation of new Ukrainian narratives.

Denis Poltavets, Director of Program Development at the Aspen Institute Kyiv, and Tymur Demchuk, Head of Corporate Training at KMBS and lecturer at Maibutni and KMBS, moderated the seminar.

Alina Shkliaruk, Seminar Program Director, coordinated the seminar.

We are deeply inspired when organizational leaders strive to engage their teams in dialogue. We hope this sparks new ideas and solutions capable of transforming organizations and society as a whole.
