The Aspen Institute Kyiv held special panel discussions with TSN in the Ideas Days Framework

How can we revive the economy, strengthen security, including energy security, advance education, and develop the country as a whole? What are the defining characteristics of modern Ukrainians? What is Ukrainian identity, and how does it influence self-identification? What are the strategies for maintaining internal resilience, and how can we amplify it during the war, both personally and nationally?

The Aspen Institute Kyiv addresses these and other existential questions to develop a vision for Ukraine’s future.

On Statehood Day, July 28th, Aspen Institute Kyiv and TSN organized a special broadcast as part of the “United News” telethon. This broadcast marked the conclusion of a series of one-day events titled “Days of Ideas” held in three cities across Ukraine. The events were organized in collaboration with Impact Hub Odesa and its co-founder, Yehor Grebennikov.

The final panel took place in the village of Vytachiv, Kyiv region.

Denіs Poltavets, Director of Program Development at the Aspen Institute Kyiv, and Nataliia Moseichuk, “1+1” TVpresenter, moderated the event.

Speakers of the first-panel discussion:

  •  Oleksandr Kamyshin — Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
  •  Lana Zerkal — Head of the project for assessing damage to critical infrastructure and preparing for recovery with UNDP, advisor to the Minister of Energy.
  •  Kyrylo Kryvolap — Director of the Center for Economic Recovery and advisor to the Prime Minister.

Speakers of the second-panel discussion:

  • Ihor Kozlovskyi — Religious scholar, writer, public figure, member of the Ukrainian PEN Club, professor at Donetsk National University named after Vasyl Stus.
  • Mykhailo Vynnytskyi — Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, lecturer, author of numerous academic studies, and intellectual journalism.
  • Olesya Ostrovska-Liuta — General Director of Mystetskyi Arsenal.

The Aspen Institute Kyiv encourages as broad a discussion as possible about Ukraine’s future. It aims to consolidate society and highlight key issues that deserve greater attention in forming a comprehensive vision. Ukraine’s success depends on every individual recognizing the importance of these questions.

The project “Social Contract for Ukraine” is implemented with the support of the NED (National Endowment for Democracy).
