Yevhen Hlibovytskyi spoke about the practical significance of the social contract for Ukraine

Aspen Institute Kyiv, on the initiative of the Community Council, started a project dedicated to discussing a new social contract for Ukraine. Within the framework of the project, the Institute held three seminars and a discussion. During the debate, pro.mova partner Yevhen Hlibovytsky spoke about the practical significance of the social contract for Ukraine.

The practical significance of the social contract lies primarily in answering the questions that will arise in our society after victory. In particular, how exactly will the need for the concentration of power and the manifestation of the new post-war subjectivity of citizens coexist?

In addition, Yevhen Hlibovytskyi noted that the answer to this question is also essential for the broader context:

— Earlier in public discourse, we used to say that there are perfect Western models and imperfect Ukrainian models. Now we see that the Ukrainian model can also be attractive to the developed Western world. Whilst there is less and less security and more and more lagging elites from social needs. Ukraine, which is more horizontal, more networked, and envisages turning to the state only in conditions of extreme necessity, suddenly begins to look not like a weak player but one of the possible models.
