Good Governance Forum “Communities: prospects for Ukraine”

On December 18, the third Good Governance Forum will be held by The Aspen Institute Kyiv within the scope of the Good Governance Program. The theme of this year’s Forum is “Communities: Prospects for Ukraine”.

The forum aims to support a platform for dialogue between national and local leaders to discuss the main directions of further reform and development of local self-government, analysis of the prospects of the Ukrainian economy in 2021, in particular, in the context of Ukrainian communities.

Two panel discussions are planned within the Forum.

Decentralization in Ukraine: Challenges and Prospects, 13:30-14:45

The event is dedicated to discussing the next steps in the reform, streamlining the activities of public authorities and local governments in connection with changes in the territorial and administrative structure of Ukraine, current legislative initiatives, as well as ways to increase the institutional capacity of local governments.

Prospects of the Ukrainian economy in 2021, 14:45-16:15

The event is dedicated to discussion of macroeconomic forecasts for 2021, expectations for the formation of budgets of different levels and opportunities for economic development of territorial communities.

We invite representatives of local governments and public authorities, non-governmental organizations, international projects, representatives of business, media and academia.

The Forum will take place online. Registered participants will receive a link to the broadcast.
