Outcome of the Ideas Festival 2020

On June 25-27, 2020, the fourth annual Ideas Festival took place. It was organized by the Aspen Institute Kyiv and the Impact Hub Odessa.

The mission of the Festival is to unite the efforts of thinkers, entrepreneurs, artists, public figures for finding new ideas and elaborating ways to put the best of them into practice.

Since 2017, the Festival has been held annually in the city of Odessa, but this year – due to quarantine restrictions – Ideas Festival was held online.

The theme of this year’s Festival is “World in Fever: Overcoming the Crisis Together”. The focus is the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the world, Ukraine and our daily lives.

The Festival covered 7 main topics – public health, economics and entrepreneurship, education, science and technology, security, art and media, philosophy of life. These topics were covered through three perspectives – global (June 25), national (June 26) and personal (June 27).

This year, 82 speakers from 11 countries participated in the discussions of the Festival. More than 1,600 viewers from 20 countries joined the Zoom webinars. A total of 26 panel discussions took place. Broadcasts of the webinars on the Facebook pages of The Aspen Institute Kyiv and Ideas Festival were watched by more than 20,000 viewers.
