Guide for Community Leaders
Within the project “Promoting and Improving Decentralization” being the part of the Good Governance Program, the participants and experts of the Program prepared the Guide for Сommunity Leaders “Local Economic Development and Local Democracy: Dialogues with Stakeholders”.
The Guide was formed as the result of four dialogue sessions with stakeholders of the reform of local government and territorial organization of authority in Ukraine, where 94 representatives from 17 regions of Ukraine took part.
From October 2019 till April 2020, the Aspen Institute Kyiv held consultations due to selected topics:
1) local economic development;
2) influence of decentralization reform on Governance Practices of UTCs.
Conducting of consultation supported a spreading of knowledge about good governance principals and best practices of the decentralization, determination of main problems on the united territorial communities level, and working out recommendations to its solving.
Discussions results are generalized in the Guide for Communities leaders “Local Economic Development and Local Democracy: Dialogues with Stakeholders”, that will be spread among the reform’s stakeholders.
