The sixth Aspen Seminar for Young European Leaders

Aspen Institute Kyiv continues to develop cooperation with international partners. On September 8-11, the sixth Aspen Seminar for Young European Leaders took place in a picturesque mountain location near Brasov (Romania).

Aspen Institute Romania organized the seminar in partnership with Aspen Institute Kyiv and in cooperation with the American Aspen Institute (leadership seminar program) under the auspices of the Aspen Initiative for Europe.

During the seminar, the young leaders of Europe and the world discussed the writings of European and world thinkers. In the format of a moderated dialogue, the participants explored their values, shared opinions on current issues, global and European challenges, the future of democracy, and the political landscape, and exchanged unique leadership experiences. Participants paid special attention to the Russian-Ukraine war and its impact on the development of modern Europe. Yaroslav Lodygin, a Ukrainian director, producer, and screenwriter, and Alina Shklyaruk, director of Aspen Institute Kyiv seminar programs, represented Ukraine at the seminar.

Dr. Todd Breyfogle, Executive Director of the Leadership Seminars of the Aspen Institute (USA), and Madalina Mocan, Adjunct Teaching Assistant, Civil Society Specialist at the Center for the Study of Democracy, Faculty of Political Sciences at the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj, and member of the Aspen Institute Romania, moderated the event.
