Leaders’ Interaction for the Future Development of Ukraine: Ideas Day in the Rivne Region

The collaboration of leaders, Ukrainians’ internal resilience, economic development, the advancement of domestic education, volunteering and patronage, and the strengthening of national identity were the main topics of discussion during the Ideas Day on July 17!
This year, the traditional Ideas Festival is being held in three cities across Ukraine in a new format called Ideas Days. The first Ideas Day took place in the Rivne Region.
In her opening remarks, Yulia Tychkivska, Aspen Institute Kyiv Executive Director, emphasized the importance of dialogue among leaders and the interaction of change-makers. According to Yegor Grebennikov, co-founder of Impact Hub Odessa, the organizers aim to disseminate voiced opinions and insights.
During the first panel discussion, “National and Civic Identity as Components of National Resilience,” speakers discussed how Ukrainians preserve their identity even during a major war and enhance their resilience. Participants paid particular attention to issues related to education and youth upbringing.
In the panel discussion participated Oksen Lisovyi (Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine), Olexandra Koltsova (Ukrainian public figure, singer), and Andriy Zelinskyi (political scientist, military chaplain of the UGCC).
In the second panel discussion, “Volunteering and Patronage: Present and Future,” speakers discussed the phenomenon of volunteering and patronage, which became particularly significant during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Our determination and readiness for collective actions became the key to preserving and developing the state, and consequently, the culture of volunteering and patronage should gain broader prominence.
The discussion involved Vitaliy Koval (Head of Rivne Regional State Administration), Ihor Pasichnyk (Rector of the National University of Ostroh Academy), Mykhailo Veselskyy (author and patron of the “Radovel Project”), and Iryna Ivanchyk (founder of the “Believe in Yourself” charity foundation).
We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in the event! We remind you that broadcasts of Ideas Days will also take place on July 20 and 22!
