Denis Poltavets, Director of Program Development, and Andriy Kulakov, Coordinator of the Aspen Institute Kyiv Community Program, attended the seminar for moderators
The Aspen Institute USA, in partnership with the Aspen Institute Romania, conducted a methodological seminar for the moderators of the Aspen Institutes’ partner network. The event brought together over 20 participants from various countries worldwide, delegated by national and regional Aspen Institutes.
From the Ukrainian side, Denis Poltavets, Director of Program Development, and Andriy Kulakov, Coordinator of the Aspen Institute Kyiv Community Program, attended the seminar. According to their remarks, the event expanded the toolkit for building Aspen-style dialogues and inspired new approaches to seminar preparation in line with their specific context.
Todd Breyfogle, the Executive Director of Seminars at the Aspen Institute (USA) and Madalina Mokan from the Aspen Institute Romania co-moderated the seminar.
The seminar aimed to broaden the moderators’ toolkit, particularly in using various exercises to stimulate dialogue, group and pair work, different approaches to text analysis, and methods for engaging participants. As reported by its participants, one of the most vivid impressions from the methodological seminar was the discussion of works of visual art and poetry.
We thank the partners for organizing the seminar and providing inspiring, practical experiences for the moderators!
